Digital Talent Show Website · 2021

Role: Web Designer & Visual Support

The Challenge

MEO wanted to launch Portugal’s first fully digital talent show, breaking away from traditional television formats. The platform needed to be more than a marketing site—it had to manage contestant video submissions, host updates, present competition phases, and keep audiences engaged throughout a months-long creative journey.

MEO wanted to launch Portugal’s first fully digital talent show, breaking away from traditional television formats. The platform needed to be more than a marketing site it had to manage contestant video submissions, host updates, present competition phases, and keep audiences engaged throughout a months-long creative journey.

With over 1,200 sign-ups in the first selection phase and multiple stages including writing camps, auditions, duets, and music video production, the website became the main access point for participants, judges, and fans. The project was backed by major sponsors including Samsung, Mitsubishi, and SAPO, whose brands needed to be represented seamlessly within the digital experience.

My Role

As the web designer, I collaborated closely with the main designer and the developer who implemented the site to bring the platform to life. My contributions included:

Designing layout components and visual elements consistent with the show’s dynamic identity

Refining typography and layout structures for both impact and readability

Shaping content hierarchy so that contestant profiles, updates, and submission flows felt intuitive

Ensuring designs were adaptable across desktop, mobile, and set-top box interfaces

Creative Direction

The website’s look and feel aimed to match the excitement of a live entertainment event while staying functional for both participants and audiences.

Key Principles

Simple Paths to Action

Brand Integration

subtle yet visible placement of sponsor logos and colors in a way that felt cohesive with the site’s design

Mobile-First Focus

anticipating that most interactions would happen on phones and tablets

Outcome

The platform supported the entire digital-first format and contributed to the show’s standout results:

1,200+ participant submissions in the opening phase

• Over 6.5 million people reached across the campaign

1.3 million+ live views during the seven gala events
